Leading developer Lovell Homes is encouraging property seekers to consider its two popular developments in Newport, where the Government-backed Help to Buy Wales* scheme is available.

Lovell Homes is currently providing new homes at two developments in Newport – Royal Victoria Court and Locke Gardens.

Royal Victoria Court is located off Cardiff Road, on the site of the former Whiteheads steelworks, and consists of a stunning range of 264 two, three and four-bedroom houses and one and two-bedroom apartments.

On the site of the former Llanwern steelworks, off Baldwin Drive, is Locke Gardens, which is comprised of a stylish collection of 285 two, three and four-bedroom homes.

The Help to Buy Wales scheme is designed to make the homebuying process as easy as possible and is not restricted to first-time buyers, meaning all purchasers looking to move to a brand-new home are provided with support.

Help to Buy Wales enables buyers to purchase a brand-new home with just a five per cent deposit. The remainder is made up from a 75 per cent mortgage and a 20 per cent equity loan, which is interest free for the first five years.

Currently, Help to Buy Wales is available on new build homes up to £250,000. The one and two-bedroom homes at Royal Victoria Court and two-bedroom properties at Locke Gardens are available now under the scheme.

To help buyers make sure they’re mortgage ready before enquiring about a new home in Newport, Lovell Homes has partnered with Deb Hurley, an independent mortgage advisor and new build specialist for ABP Mortgages, to create a handy video which breaks down the process of reserving a home. The video can be viewed on YouTube.

Suzie Hewitt, regional sales director at Lovell Homes, said: “For most people, buying a home is one of the biggest investments they will ever make, and it is important for us at Lovell Homes that people receive the best possible value.

“The homes at Royal Victoria Court and Locke Gardens are ideal for a wide range of purchasers, from first-time buyers looking to take their first steps onto the property ladder, to growing families looking to upsize, and to rightsizers looking for a more manageable home.

“We can’t wait to help more buyers find their dream home in a way that is affordable, something that is even more valuable in today’s cost-of-living crisis. We would encourage anyone who is interested in our wonderful homes that are eligible for Help to Buy Wales to get in touch with our sales team to find out more.”

Royal Victoria Court is being delivered by Lovell in partnership with Tirion Homes and with support from Welsh Government. The development will consist of 528 properties, including 264 open market sale homes and 234 affordable homes for rent with Tirion Homes, alongside an additional 30 properties for low-cost home ownership through Melin Homes.

Locke Gardens is being delivered by Lovell in partnership with Pobl. The development will consist of 500 properties, including 285 open market sale homes, 80 affordable homes and 135 shared ownership properties. The development is part of Glan Llyn – a residential-led development being delivered by St Modwen. The £1 billion regeneration project is transforming the 600-acre brownfield site and creating a major new vibrant community for South Wales, with a total of 4,000 new homes being delivered alongside community infrastructure and green, open space.
