Our stunning new development, Briarswood in Harleston, opens late May with three show homes and two view homes, available to browse by appointment. Briarswood is an energy efficient development, consisting of brand new two-, three- and four-bedroom houses and two- and three-bedroom bungalows.
We spoke to one of the interior design teams for our show homes about their inspiration…
Hayley Jenkinson, account manager at Claude Hooper, talks us through the styling of two of our show homes…
Four bedroom show home – The Rowan
“We always aim to create something eye catching and inspiring that feels like home. The Rowan show home at Briarswood is a four-bedroom home with two en-suites and a family bathroom. We have given it a family feel and have gone for luxury and comfort, and somewhere anyone would feel proud to call home. The lounge has a neutral pallet and panel details, which is really on trend. We’ve added abstract artwork and geographic patterns to make the room feel calm and relaxing. The study/work from home room has a photography/journalism theme with wall shelves, books and notice boards.
The kitchen is styled with the Lovell selections and features a glass table for an informal seating area, but also has a separate dining room which is neutral, with greenery to soften it. There is also a utility room, downstairs toilet and a lovely hallway space.
“The main bedroom is a spacious room with a 6ft bed and wood panelling. Bedroom two is neutral with a double bed and a feature painted ceiling, which is very popular right now. Bedroom four is a Star Wars gaming themed room with a double bed and striped panelling to mark off the desk area, and a grey theme. As Harleston is a market town we have styled bedroom three with a market theme in a cute green grocers style and featuring a canopy bed.”
Three bedroom show home – The Lime
“We have styled this for a young family who are perhaps buying their first home and have gone for an aspirational yet achievable style with neutral colours and blues. Two of the bedrooms are doubles, and it is a lovely spacious home. The hallway has a half height paint line too which looks fantastic.
“The living room feels really homely with panelling detail behind the TV, family photos and a table with a slattered pattern made from walnut wood.
It shows off the large space and has two three-seater sofas in the room. The house also benefits from a lot of storage space too. The kitchen and dining area is practical with a table, smoky pendant light, and a monochrome theme and even a cocktail area.”
“There are three generous sized rooms with the primary bedroom having panelling behind the bed and bedroom 2 having a double bed and a table. Whilst bedroom 3 encompasses a Mickey Mouse theme, vintage style wallpaper and soft blue features. It also has a nod to aviation to tie into the local area and our road names on the development will reflect this link too.”
We asked Hayley what happens when it comes to installing and pulling it all together. Hayley said: “The Lovell site team puts up the wallpaper, lights and flooring, and sorts the kitchen and bathroom fittings.
Install of furniture takes around one day and then a stylist goes in spending around two to three days at the home. We have one stylist per plot. We’ve really enjoyed it and we think the homes look stunning. They are beautiful homes and Harleston is a gorgeous area.”
