On October 18, the Lovell team joined with Repton Property Developments, subcontractors and partners at our Bowlers Green Development in Hopton to celebrate their recent achievement at the 2024 NHBC Awards, where senior site manager Matthew Smith secured the Pride in the Job Quality Award.
In its 44th year, the NHBC awards are highly regarded within the construction industry and are seen as a prestigious benchmark for exceptional site managers. The integral purpose of these awards are to raise the standards amongst the housebuilding industry and managers are assessed across several key areas, driving the standards higher each year.
The award demonstrates the dedication, passion, commitment and leadership it takes to build homes of an exceptional quality and Matthew and members of the team attended the awards ceremony on 27 September this year.
To celebrate the occasion and as an appreciation for the team’s efforts, a Hog Roast was hosted by Spitting Pig Co. in the Hopton mental health site garden. This event aimed to bring the team together to commemorate their collective achievements and reinforce the spirit of teamwork.
Matthew Smith said: ‘’Winning this award is a massive achievement and it reflects the fantastic Lovell team we have on site at Bowlers Green, who are all a part of the success of this site. It was fantastic to celebrate together with the team, and to share some lovely food.”
Bowlers Green also won the Residential Project of the Year at the Norfolk Constructing Excellence Awards in April 2024 and was crowned Bronze Winner at the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) National Site Awards, also held in April, as well as being a Gold Winner at the Lovell National Health and Safety Awards in February 2024.

We wanted to have the opportunity to celebrate as a team with our partners and subcontractors too, and the hog roast was a resounding success.”
